Lacy V-Stitch Scarf {Free Crochet Pattern}

This is one of my personal favorite scarf patterns. 
It is fun to make because the stitch is interesting. The best part, though, is the finished product. It is an elegant scarf, and despite the open work, it is quite warm. You can choose to add a fringe to the bottom, if you like. I chose not to for this one... and for the purple one that I made for myself. I felt that it stood alone well on its own, but for some people, it isn't a scarf if there is no fringe. If you are one of those who can't do without it, then by all means, fringe away!

Lacy V-Stitch Scarf

Supplies:
Size I Crochet Hook
Less than 1 skein worsted weight yarn.
I used Red Heart Super Saver in  Light Sage





Special Stitch:
V-Stitch: Dc, ch1, dc in same stitch.


Pattern:
Chain 26
Wrong Side
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, [ch 1, skip next 3 chs, V-st in 4th ch from hook] repeat across. When you get to the end of the row, ch1, dc in each of the last 2 chs. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, Sc in each of the first 2 dc sts. [Sc in ch-1 space, sc in next V-st, ch 3, sc in same V-st.] repeat across.  When you get to the end of the row, sc in the last ch-1 space, then work 1 sc in each of the last 2 sts. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, Skip the first sc (the turning chain counts as the first dc), dc in next sc. [Ch 1, V-st in next ch-3 space] Repeat across. When you get to the end of the row, ch 1, then work 1 dc in each of the last 2 sts.
Rows 4-120: Repeat (alternating) rows 2 and 3.
Finish off and weave in ends.
