Once you finish practicing your new stitch, you can keep the headband for yourself, or give it as a gift. Tie headbands also make a fun and quick item to add to your craft booth.
Today, we will be working on a Forked Cluster stitch headband. I just love the texture that the forked cluster stitch adds.
Forked Cluster Tie Headband
Supplies:
Size I crochet hook
Worsted weight 100% cotton yarn
Special Instructions:
Forked Cluster (FC)- *[yo, insert hook at first position given, yo and pull the loop through] twice in the same place, yo and pull through first 4 loops on hook, repeat from * at the second position given, yo and pull through all 3 loops left on hook.
Pattern:
Ch 42
Row 1: sc in 3rd (skipped ch counts as sc) ch from hook. Turn. (2)
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in top of skipped ch. Turn. (3)
Row 3: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc 2. Turn. ( 4 )
Row 4: ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc 3. Turn. ( 5)
Row 5: ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. (5)
Row 6: ch 4 (counts as dc+ch 1), skip 1 st, work in next st for the first half of FC, skip 1 st, work second half of FC in next st, ch 1, dc in last st. Turn.
Rows 7-23: ch 4 (counts as dc+ch 1), work a FC in the first and second ch 1 spaces, dc in 3rd ch of tch. Turn.
Row 24: ch 1, sc in first st, sc in ch 1 sp, sc in top of FC, sc in ch 1 sp, sc in 3rd ch of tch. Turn. (5)
Row 25: ch 1, sc2tog, sc 3. Turn. (4)
Row 26: ch 1, sc2tog, sc 2. Turn. (3)
Row 27: ch 1, sc2tog, sc 1. Turn. (2)
Row 28: ch 1, sc2tog. Turn. (1)
Row 29: ch 1, sc. (1)
Ch 40
Finish off and weave in ends.
